Balmoral Aid and Support Services was launched in 2007 as a registered not-for-profit agency dedicated to connecting newly arrived refugees and immigrants to Canada with community supports and resources to help establish themselves and to flourish here.
Our efforts are premised on the central principle that it takes a community of supporters, experts, and friends to ensure that every person who has chosen to make Canada their home will have access to the assistance they need to be successful.
We aim to be multi-factoral in our approach – ensuring that we think of every challenge a newcomer might face in order to anticipate their needs - and listening to what they tell us about their anxieties and concerns, when they do arrive.
Our experience in resettlement has shown that in addition to focusing on key success factors such as language, employment, and housing, it is just as important to attend to the needs that may not be as visible – including psychological intervention to address trauma, moral support for continual self-improvement, and spiritual support.
